Taz Tek was started by Carolynn and Wayne after discovering no one in Australia was seriously dedicated to building trailers to cart motorcycles and ATVs. They moved to Tassie to test their ideas and designs because the riding community there was close knit and so feed back was guaranteed. It also has fantastic roads for riding.

After opening their doors in Oct 2004, Taz Tek was quickly in demand to also build special purpose one off trailers, where quality and customised design were important. It was a niche that many other trailer manufacturers seemed to have passed up one as too difficult, as they were not geared up for highly customised trailer designs.

Another niche quickly appeared - that of motorcycle transportation and recovery. At that time no one was providing a state wide service or a 24 / 7 crash recovery. With fours years experience under our belt, we now have a new name TMT – Tasmanian Motorcycle Transport, moving old and new bikes around the state as well as interstate.

In the 1st 12 months
Taz Tek was a finalist in the 2005 MST Business Awards after being in business just 10 months. The competition was incredibly hi-calibre and tough. So pretty pleased with the award.

Being the official Recovery Team for the 2005 Honda National Historic Motorcycle Championships at Symmons Plains.

Since then, we have been the official trackside recovery team for every Australian Superbikes Championship round held at Symmons Plains. Have Taz Tek trailers and flat trays located in Queensland, NSW, Victoria and South Australia.

Wayne and Carolynn both have over 30 years riding behind them. Currently they both have 2 bikes each. Wayne wants to ‘own them all’ but has to contend with just 2 BMWs while ever lusting for his next perfect bike, while Carolynn is trying to get 200,000km on her trusty airhead boxer but is struggling to stay off the ZZR 1100. The rest of the team includes Mark (Yamaha TRX), Joey (Yamaha TRX), Tim (Suzuki GS) and Digga (working on getting his 1st licence).
